Dr. Contrecia T. Tharpe

Dr. Contrecia T. Tharpe is a marketing, branding, and communications practitioner.  In 2008, she opened FayeVaughn Creative, formerly neuIMC, a boutique integrated marketing and communications firm in Nashville.  With over 14 years of experience in the industry, she has worked with national and international brands, businesses, and individuals in the non-profit, sports, entertainment, travel, small business, and education sectors.  She advocates for small and medium business success and works to maximize and identify opportunities, craft strategies, and create solid business foundations for her clients. With a passion for education, redemption, desistance, and equity, she started The DREAM Initiative with Robert Sherrill in an effort to change the narrative surrounding recidivism and second chances.

 

A member of NBJ's 2023 40 under 40 class, Contrecia is a current board member of the women’s leadership organization Nashville CABLE, youth advocacy organization Impact Youth Outreach, mentor for TN Achieves, and is a former board of directors member and Chair of Communications for the national organization Shelters 2 Shutters.  She is also a mentor with Nashville’s Entrepreneur Center.

Having obtained her doctorate from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2019, she is currently a faculty member at Nashville’s Lipscomb University in the communications department, where she teaches advertising copy and communications courses.  Her second book, Getting to Done, will be released in April 2023.
